В Великобритании проходит основная часть празднований в честь 60-летия со дня вступления на престол королевы Елизаветы II.
Во всех странах Содружества люди празднуют юбилей правления королевы, устраивают вечеринки и пикники. По всей стране проходит масса зрелищных мероприятий.
Сегодня в Лондоне прошел крупнейший за 350 лет речной парад. В нем приняло участие порядка тысячи кораблей, яхт и лодок.
Флотилию возглавила королевская барка с Елизаветой II и герцогом Эдинбургским принцем Филипом на борту.
Также на судне присутствовали принц Уэльский Чарльз с супругой герцогиней Камиллой, принц Уильям, герцогиня Кембриджская Кэтрин и принц Гарри.

18 Мая Олимпийский огонь прибыл в Англию и вчера начал своё путешествие в Land's End. Этот пробег будет длится 70 дней.Расстояние маршрута 8000 миль. Факел с Олимпийским огнём пронесут 8000 человек. У 95% населения будет возможность увидеть его в своём городе или на своей улице. 27 июля состоится торжественное открытие Олимпийских Игр 2012 в Лондоне

В моем городке огонь пройдет в 10:20 утра по центральным улицам в течении часа. Возьму выходной по такому случаю.
